We stick with shortwave infrared. Why? Because it feels like stepping into a patch of sunlight on a crisp day. It hits you the moment you sit down. There’s no waiting around for the air to “warm up.” This is huge for your bottom line. When guests feel cozy immediately, they stay longer, order another round, and you can flip those tables faster.
A Few Tips for the Setup
Before you start drilling holes, a heads-up on the power: give these their own dedicated circuit. These lamps pull a lot of juice. If you hook them up to the same line as your patio lights, you’re going to trip a breaker right in the middle of the Friday night rush. Not a great look. Then there’s the height. It’s a bit of a balancing act. If you hang them too low, your guests will feel like they’re being grilled. Too high, and the heat disappears before it even reaches the table. We’ve found that2.5 to 3 metersis the sweet spot. One last thing—these things get hot. Really hot. Just make sure whatever ceiling or overhang you’re mounting them to can handle the heat without scorching.
